Nintendo’s loveable pink ball Kirby has long been known for his ability to eat his enemies and gain their powers. In the latest Wii installment into his series, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land, the pink menace is set to unleash some impressive new powers and abilities.

Released on October 24 exclusively on the Wii console, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land brings players back to the familiar side scrolling worlds they are comfortable with. Much like the previous titles, players will journey through many different worlds, sucking up enemies and gaining their powers while searching for hidden treasures. Unique to this installment, Kirby will now have access to Super Abilities, allowing him to destroy enemies and environments in all new ways. Kirby’s Return to Dream Land will also have multiplayer for up to three extra players, who will be able to jump in at any time and destroy any progress the current player might have been making.

In this new title, Kirby is working to find pieces of a spaceship that has crash landed on Kirby’s planet of Popstar. Much like previous games, when kirby encounters enemies he can eat them and gain their powers. Players will need to keep an eye out for special enemies, whom upon being inhaled will grant Kirby access to a Super Ability. From destruction of entire landscapes in one blow to a Super Inhale ability that turns enemies into giant projectiles, the possibility for destruction and fun is everywhere. The additional players who jump will have the option of either being different color Kirbys or a select few well known characters from throughout the series: Meta Knight, King Dedede or Waddle Dee.

Kirby and the other playable characters in Kirby’s Return to Dream Land have their own unique abilities, and will be able to be combined in different ways. Players can coordinate their actions into powerful team attacks, or they can make Kirby inhale and spit out other characters to knock down foes in battle. Players will have to hold the Wii Remote controller sideways to control Kirby as he navigates his way through various environments, swimming through seas, flying over jungles and beyond.

  1. This game looks like the Kirby version of NSMB Wii.
