Castle Lusipurr #30: Confinement

'Digging a hole to China' is generally held to be a figurative statement.

…Or, start from the beginning.

The Simulated Outdoor Area is designed to be a completely and wholly accurate representation of the Real Outside World(tm). It comes complete with all of the things one could expect to find in the deepest recesses of the American wildness–no detail has been left out. One can find grass, air, other people (if they are permitted to visit the Simulated Outdoor Area), and dirt.

It is a very accurate representation. Consequently, it is also a very boring representation. The room has the strangely beneficial effect of causing staff members to prefer their work–which just goes to show that a little outdoor time can be good for EFFICIENCY!
