Lusipurr and SiliconNooB discuss the special magic needed to create an excellent game that is truly more than the sum of its disparate parts, and they give readers a Tabata-like chance to choose the ending of the next podcast: Super Bad or Happy?
I’d like to vouch for Tribute Games. Mercenary Kings is like Contra/Metal Slug, but with peristent systems, levelling-up, items; pretty deep for a run ‘n gun. Wizorb, yes, is like Arkanoid but again with more systems. I own Ninja Senki DX and Curses ‘n Chaos, but haven’t played them yet. They make quality games, so I’ve bought whatever I’ve seen by them, but I haven’t seen Flinthook! Thank you for mentioning that – I’ll be picking it up on Switch. Another ome of favorite indie devs is Ludosity, just to mention them too.
Bad ending, since when were good endings any good?
@Tanzenmatt: It’s really good. I’d be playing it now if I had time.
@RabidKitten: That’s one vote for the bad ending. I’ll start sharpening the rake.
